My name is Lynden Swift and I have been running projects, workshops and training courses for around 20 years. I have trained in Prince2, APM, Agile and Scrum methods of project management as well as John Seddon's Vanguard service review method.
While all of these are useful and valid methods, none of them cover the most crucial factor in delivering a successful project; how to bring together a group of people who may never have worked with each other before and turn them from a group of individuals into a focussed, engaged and high performing team.
For a while I struggled to do this myself; trying different meeting formats, none of which worked particularly well. My eureka moment was realising that using a workshop based approach is by far the easiest and most effective way of achieving my goal.
The flexibility of this format and the freedom it provides allows all of your team and stakeholders to be heard and contribute. It generates high quality information and structures this in a way that enables the project manager to launch the project from the best possible foundation.
SwiftWorks has come about through the desire to help organisations run more effective projects and more effective service reviews. The goal is to turn groups of individuals into cohesive teams and enable those teams to reach success; whether this be a project's delivery or an improved customer service.
In my spare time I like walking, good food, bread making and, as you might be able to tell, I also like taking photographs.
